Use a DC fan, not an AC fan. THere is no way to shield a fan, unless you compoletely enclose it, then it wouldn't be much for airflow.

It is a DC fan thats the thing, plugs into a molex. Was gonna mod it 2 5 volts on the monitor .

LOL...sorry, i must have said it wrong, i meant running along the vga cable but not taking power from it... meaning theres an extra wire that runs with the vga cable and power towards the computer and when that wire gets there, it'll run off an usb portOriginally posted by nst6563
