What is the use of a shielded patch pannel ? I was on moniprice and I saw this.

Is it recommended for STP/FTP ? I got a client who refused to buy fiber and installed this instead, the guy at the DSL compagny made a deal and a cheap labor fee to install this on the campus...

The STP drops are not terminated in the buildings so I was checking was is my best option here. I am better to install shielded keystones jacks ? Or just install a patch pannel ? Or both ?

Yes, a shielded patch panel is for use with properly terminated STP/FTP. I don't recommend STP or FTP in most installations; if it is installed improperly it can actually make things far worse.
The link for wha tthe DSL guy uses is aerially suspended cable- like running a cable in the air between buildings, or from a pole to a building. I wouldn't use it inside a building. I wouldn't use it for anything but what it is designed for, just because it is so danged expensive.

Your questions on STP are the exact reasons I don't recommend it unless it is part of an architected wiring plan. Where the shield is drained (grounded) and what segments to shield (just the in-wall cable, patchcables, etc) depends on the connected equipment and patch panel. If none of this makes sense, I recommend using UTP instead, or contacting a network installation specialist.

I was against installing copper between buildings because so much people discouraged me to do so (burial and aerial) and I started reading on the matter and I saw horror stories, I dont really do outside installations and I always hire professionals.

I told them before they ''hired'' this guy, that they will be responsible for any problems caused by this installation. But they just said the price worth the try, and they said that if everything is grounded properly, nothing will break.

Anyway, I think I am gonna call professionnals to terminate the drops, for the ''savings'' they did on the aerial, they can afford a 2-3 hour job.

going through this right now, but instead of building-building, mine is outside antenna-inside patch panel....

i just ordered ubiquiti toughcable w/ the connectors... they'll ground out on the power injectors... otherwise i'd have to make sure i had ground points for the patch panel and shielded patch cords to my poe switch, which i'd then have to ground out...
