Shattered Horizon

it fails HARD....

I played the beta... it was terrible. Very cool idea but wasted in all respects.

Graphics are very mediocre and the game play is stale and bland all around.

It held my interest for about 5 minutes.

wide open space and it does infantry combat only... no vehicles, 1 weapon, everyone has the same weapon...

Least this is how it was in the beta and there seemed to be nothing else coming.

the graphics did not look that good in the beta (this is after seeing the video)

No where near as sharp as that even with maxed settings.

looks kind of neat, but as stated before, I think it would get old fast...

...I never even played the first one, the patch didn't come out in time - than I forgot about it... : |

The beta was fun. It's really fun in a large server -- around 14 people or so. I never got to play in a 32 player match, though.

There's only one gun (which has two shooting modes plus a grenade launcher) but the game doesn't feel like it's lacking too much. The game does take some skill to master the movement. At $20, I think the game is priced appropriately.

I was in the beta, I agree with the general sentiment that the game is not very good. Didn't hold my interest, not very fun at all.

I like you you just float around in space...hahah should be a good game to at least try....

I'm fairly excited about this one. Since it's from Futuremark, could this possibly be another benchmark game like Crysis is? Or at least have a benchmark utility. The in-game footage in the video looks great, since wondering about the rest of it. From the feedback so far concerning their beta releases, it seems they have held a bit back from what was released within them.

the graphics look bad.. the animation looks bad.. and their using assault rifles in space which has been proven would never work in the vacuum of space.. yes.. yes.. i know its a game.. but come on at least give people some bad ass laser assault rifles or something.. make it interesting.. ill be passing on this game.. unless it ends up coming out for free..

This..I didnt get invited ti the extended beta cause I guess I didnt spend enough time with it for the reasons quoted.

I'm surprised the graphics are so average looking...the game is one of the few games built from the ground up with DX10...hell the system requirements for this game are off the charts

the zero gravity is a nice concept but implementation could have been much better...the game would give me a headache after playing for awhile

With all honesty, I like this game.
The game as a different and unique concept; there is really no "up" or "down," you're just floating. Sure it's a new game and it needs to be a little more optimized, but I just got done from playing an hour of it, and I'm entirely happy that I spent seventeen or so bucks at the preorder.
Not only that but the developers seem to be very responsive; just check the Steam forums. They actually take the time to answer the forum members' questions.

Disagree with me or not, it's entirely your opinion, but I had a lot of fun, haha. I'm a bit excited to see what else they will implement into the game.

AMAZING!

just bought it, a underhyped hit

for those of you who have read ender's game, its sort of liek the battle room in space
you are in free gravity flight you can attach yourself to any platform and are constantly orienting yourself

the gunplay is cool, everyone has the same gun and there are no pickups, its basically and assault rifle with some recoil and a sniper rifle attachment

there are smoke nades, emp nades, etc

you can also shut down your suit so say you are being chase you spin around a metoer, power down, his hud cant locate you, than you start to chase him

a lot of cat and mouse tactics and using your environment for cover, but you need to watch 360 of incoming enemies

alot of roomt o be quite sneaky, i get most of my kills when they dont see me

MP only, theres not even bots, and its on FUTUREMARKS dedi. servs

the system requirements are also pretty harsh, i need to play on medium to get 50 frames

i5, 4890

That was a bigger waste of $20 than 3DMark Vantage was. Guess I'm a slow learner. Doesn't even look that impressive graphically.

If it looked as impressive as their benchmarks, no one would be able to play it, sadly.
