I'm assuming it is grayed out since you have connected via a DVI cable. If so, then there is no use for a sharpness control. It won't do anything other than make the picture look bad. In fact, the sharpness control on TVs doesn't really do anything other than an edge detect and make the picture look bad.
So my question to you is why do you want a sharpness control?

The image is ever so slightly blurry at the native res, which makes text less readable. I have 2 other LCD's that have sharpness control using DVI, and it is a very important feature imo.I'm assuming it is grayed out since you have connected via a DVI cable. I'm talking about a slight increase in sharpness, nothing dramatic.If you are connected with a DVI cable, your display is already as sharp as it is going to get. As kllrnohj previously stated, if you where to sharpen it, it would just look bad.

You can't increase the sharpness. It just isn't possible. There is no way to take a pixel and make it sharper. The only reason sharpness controls exist for analog is because of the inevitable signal degradation where cleanup can help. This just doesn't exist for digital signals like DVI.
As for your 2 other LCD's with sharpness controls, it is quite likely that the sharpness control isn't doing anything, or you are just used to looking at a bad, over-edgy image.
If the text is blurry, enable clear type. If your whole monitor is blurry, your monitor sucks, sorry.
