Sharp's mass production of LCDs using a new tech has begun: high resolutions, higher clarity, less power consumption and my guess; thinner bezels as these displays were designed with mobile devices in mind.

From the press release:

For LCD Monitors Display size 32 inches
No. of pixels 3,840 x 2,160 (YES!!!)
Pixel density 140 ppi

For High-Definition Notebook PCs Display size 10 inches
No. of pixels 2,560 x 1,600
Pixel density 300 ppi

For Tablet Terminals Display size 7 inches
No. of pixels 800 x 1,280
Pixel density 217 ppi

quad hd WANT! But considering current 30" prices, my guess is that will be over $2k (if it isn't over $10k, lol) :(

Holy crap. Definite want. I don't think my 2 580's would cut it though.

How do you think the inputs would work for a quad hd display? The GTX 680 only supports 2560x1600. However it supports four monitors at once, so perhaps a QuadHD monitor could have four inputs each accepting 1920x1080?

Or it will be Apple only and require Thunderbolt :(

Or displayport. Hell hdmi can do it, albeit at 24hz. I imagine these displays will be able to do different refresh rates as to not lose any possible customers.

I could see having a monitor like this someday, given my desire for 1080p in a monitor. This would give insane desktop clarity where high-end performance isn't needed, but would allow for native scaling of 1080p (something you can't have on a 25x14 display).

I want the 32 in one.

Now there is a good reason why video cards continue to get faster!!
