Can someone tell me how the hell you get the IO shield off this Thermaltake Shark case? I tried pushing it out of the case, pushing it into the case, slapping it, nothing works.
 
Take the butt end of a screwdriver, and just whack it in until it comes out. Works for me whenever I need to remove an I/O plate that won't come out easily(though I don't know about this specific case).
 
Which way do I whack it? Inside the case towards the outside or vice versa?

Not to be funny but did you check to see if it's held in by two screws? Some cases (Raidmax) mostly have the cases stock I/O shield installed with screws to properly secure it during shipping. If the I/O shield is being stuborn then whack it with a hammer.

I've had similar problems with an Ultra Wizard mid-ATX tower. I ended up having to pry all of the edges off with a flathead screwdriver and managed to score a nasty gash on my middle finger as the result of applying a bit too much force. :p

Seriously, though...good luck. Try whacking it with the other end of a screwdriver as suggested?

If you post a clear pic of the back of the case, I could probably tell you which way to whack it.
 
When you take out an IO shield, you push it from the outside of the case toward the inside. So, turn the case around and set it in your lap with the front facing away from you. Take the butt end of a screw driver or hockey stick (if your in canada) and nail it inwards.

But yes, normally you should push it in when your standing behind the case, it should come out easily, unless it's glued, nailed, or screwed on.
 
Some cases come with I/O shields that are attached to the metal of the case and do need to be pushed outwards instead of inwards. Just in case, I asked for a picture.
 
Put some muscle into it, jeez. Stop stereotyping computer guys as little weaklings. Wuss.
 
Just push it out. It probably has the tips of it soldered onto the metal, push it out with the butt end of like anything, use plyers If it's an issue.

If you can't get it out. I don't know what the hell is wrong with you.

I don't have a digital camera and couldn't find any better pics, otherwise I would have posted a close up of it.

Bash that thing! It looks like it goes inward towards the inside of the case.

And I believe w1retap was being sarcastic, heh.

but still.. don't be a wuss. I hacked my $250 lian-li to pieces with a dremel to put my water cooling stuff in it. I think hitting a piece of metal on the back panel with a screw driver won't hurt your case.

I treated the case of my first custom-build like it was gold, then dropped it into the side of my truck when leaving a LAN party.

They're just holes for screws, but without any screws in them.

And sorry w1retap. :)
 
In that case, grab a screwdriver(preferably a big one) and give the panel a nice bash inwards with the butt. If that doesn't work, keep doing it until it does :D,
