Sharing files between computers?

I am trying to link 2 computers together to share files. I currently have them going through a Linksys WRT54G router for the internet. I have installed a seperate nic card for each computer, so I have 2 in each. One for the internet and the other for sharing files between each other. I was thinking of running the second nic into a Linksys hub I have for the file sharing. How would I go about all of this? I tried a few things in Windows XP, but I can't seem to figure it out. Can someone please explain how I can accomplish this. Thanks.

Why do you need two separate networks for internet vs file sharing? Why not just plug both in to the router's built-in switch and share files over their existing connection?
