I'm going nuts researching computer mice. I'm trying to locate a mouse with a similar size and shape to the Logitech MX310. I don't like the larger size of a mouse like the G500 just because I'm not used to it. I've been to a few local computer stores but they didn't have any wired mice to wrap my hand around.

I know mouse grip/feel is a personal preference but since I'm having trouble testing out mice, I thought I'd ask the forum. Did anyone use the MX310 back in the day and move to a similar mouse?

Any brand is fine. Must have at least one thumb button and must not be 400 dpi. Added bonus if it has a solid mouse wheel that's stable enough for middle-mouse-button click-and-hold (ie, not what you get from the switchable mouse scrolling in the G500).

Well, it's definitely not the G9X with either grip. The squared off part in the bottom right digs into my palm where my ring and pinky fingers meet. I'll see if I get used to it.

Ahh, I loved that mouse. I fondly recall the one day back in 2002 playing BF1942 and on this particular map there was a huge lake surrounded by hills. I saw one pixel moving on the opposite side of the lake. I took easily took aim on this pixel pulled the trigger and dropped my german enemy.

I loved to have another MX310....just because but they are hard to find now for a reasonable price. If I recall you used to be able to buy it for around $25.

I'm hoping the Cooler Master Spawn mouse will be a nice alternative....if it's ever released in the U.S. It's small and optical just like the MX310.

I still have a couple of MX310s in decent condition. The best about this mouse was the curved shape of the sides. It was really easy to control the movement and be very precise. The closest thing that I've seen was the NZXT Avatar but I think that is also no longer available. Good luck on your search.
