Hey

So my dad got a computer not too long ago and it came w/ a partitioned harddrive. Now my dad is complaining. He is an accountant so he needs all of his programs and client files. So is there a way to backup both his programs and files in Vista HPand then move it back onto the correctly partitioned HD?

Ah...so you want to back everything up, combine the partitions, and then restore it back basically?

Well right from the get-go I'd recommend backing the system up anyways. Get an external hard drive, a copy of Acronis TrueImage 11 Home, and back it up (or alternatively you could use something like DriveXML + BartPE...but I'll let you explore that on something a little less critical than your father's work computer).

At that point, you can use Vista's Disk Management utility to expand the partition. The other partition is likely a restore image though, so just an FYI.

Yeah its fine, he just wants everything to be on one single disk. So I get Acronis TrueImage 11 Home (trial ok?), back up the system, format the drive correctly, and then...?
