Hello,

I noticed the SG05 with built in USB 3.0 front ports at silverstone's site and will like to ask, does anyone have this case?

I cannot find it anywhere online, well, at least on the US, it shows in Australia.

Thanks for the info.

I ordered the SG05BB-450 from Amazon a couple weeks ago and got the one with USB3 front ports. It wasn't marked as such on the site, but the box that arrived clearly said USB3 on it.

Nice, thanks vipz!!!!!

Now, the question is, AsRock or Asus?

:)

I just ordered the Asrock yesterday after waiting about a week, mostly to gauge initial reception. It's expensive enough as is. The Asus is on a whole different level.

To be honest, i don't really require much, besides, maybe, a moderate overclock and,in my case, i don't think is worth to spend that kind of money on the Asus.

The main attraction of the Asus is the idea of being stable for a while, since i'm not longer upgrading system every 2 years or so, so i want more stability than anything else.

From the other thread, the Asrock seems to be very good.

Good luck with that one and as soon as i can, will be joining you!

:D

If you have the old SG05 there is a USB3.0 upgrade kit sold on online. I found it cheapest on eBay. Part number is G11303260. However the cable is WAY long. I had to coil it several times in order to be able to keep the cable from being all over the place.

My SG05BB-450 has front USB3.0 ports, but I am located in South Korea at the moment, and purchased it here.

One of the things about the USB 3.0 version is that the board that houses the front ports is longer than the USB 2.0 version, and as a result, it is no longer possible to "hang" a 3.5" drive down from the the top right rail (looking at the front).

Retails for $230. I have seen it for $200 but its sold out just about everywhere.

Yeah I think it's going to run around $189.99, but it has never been in stock anywhere (in the US). I've read elsewhere that the first batch was recalled due to the IB 77W/95W debacle, but who knows.

SilverStone apparently made no announcement, "slip streamed" USB 3.0 front ports in their SG05 cases. Here's page 1 from the SilverStone SUGO Series SG05 Manual dated September, 2011.

The page clearly lists USB 3.0 front ports for the 300W and 450W cases.

You won't find this manual on line; that is I found only the previous edition listing USB 2.0 front ports. Further, Newegg's and Amazon's details are out of date, they list USB 2.0 front ports, too.

So, any of you got one recently from Newegg with the usb 3 ports?

Im looking into the 450w, but since i only had Shuttles for the last 10 years, i might just give the SZ77 a chance, since it is already on sale at Newegg and price wise, is kind of the same thing, price wise.
