SG05 CPU Fan Help

Hello All.

I have justI built a awesome SG05 build which is working great.

However my old stock CPU fan for my E8600 broke so I am using a old stock intel fan from my E6600. It is large and noizy so I wish to replace it (LGA775 right? under 78mm Height right?).

However I have never used a 3rd party CPU cooler yet. I was wondering could you give me suggestions on what I should get!

A) I am a total noob so I will need to knwo if I need to purchase other parts (most that I have seen dont seem to have the four pin connectors...do you have to buy feet for coolers seperatly? or do they clip onto the cpu or something?

B) I would prefer low noise rather then performance as I dont think I will overclock the computer. However I am willing to spend more for better performance incase I want a cpu cooler for overclocking down the road.

C) It would be great to get a cooler that has the fan on the side to help push out the hot air out the back of the case instead of a cooler with the fan on the top.

The Cooler Master Gemini II s will work if you swap out the fan for a 20mm thick one. I just put this cooler into my SG05 and it has really done a good job on my 8400.
 
I have a GeminII for sale, $15 shipped if you're interested. I do see that you linked the australian mwave site (in which case shipping becomes prohibitive), but if by chance you're in the US mine is pretty cheap.

Is there any clearance to the PSU with a 20mm fan?
 
What about a q9400 processor, will these coolers keep it cooler than stock?
 
Although the GeminII works in this case, I'm convinced that you should aim for something with a fan on it. The chipset suffers without some air flow from a top blow cooler. I'm using a Scythe Shuriken, which is small and performs accordingly, but the fan on it definitely helps to cool down the chipset.
 
In place of the hard drive bracket, I have mounted a 120mm fan on the SG05. In fact I flipped the bracket on the Geminii so the fan would overhand the chipset. The chipset still gets upto 75C on me. Worrying but not much I can do about it. CPU temps are absolutely great, but not sure what to do about the chipset other than buy another chipset cooler. Maybe try to grab a time fan and put it on there. Removed the zotac piece on it to increase airflow as well.
