Ok I have a Shuttle SB83G5 with a P4 3.4Ghz HT. When I check my system it says Pentium 4 3.4Ghz then below it says it's only running at 3.0Ghz. Is this a MOBO limitation. I can't seem to find any documentation of a cap on Ghz for the CPU. Any Suggestions?

I haven't dug into the BIOS yet, so I am unsure of the settings there.

When a CPU gets too hot, it will throttle back. Check your temperatures, make sure the processor isnt running higher than 70c. Also check your bios settings, try loading defaults, or checking to make sure the NB strap is set to PSB800 and youre FSB is at 200.

strange, i been also to use 3800 and it shows a 3800 at post so just load optimal detaulst at the bios page
