SFF mostly intel builds?

Is it just me or do most people go with intel CPU/boards?
Any specific reason? I know its faster, but I was looking to build an AMD system on a budget.
How are the 6100boards and the 740s?

1. There hasn't been an easily overclockable MicroATX AMD board for a while
2. MicroATX AMD boards have gone low-end, many now only support single-channel memory for instance
3. There are no MicroATX AMD boards that I am aware of that use all conductive polymer aluminum solid capacitors, whereas there are a few top-end MicroATX Intel boards that do

Only reason to go AMD: 780G chipset.

WHat? There are a few and they are much better at handling video.
Biostar has a 690G that is very good. Yea it's not the newest but AMD has some nice offerings.

Once the 780 gets more support it will be the way to go for SFF IMO.

I was recently in the market for a mATX setup (SG03, P5E-VM HDMI on order) and I considered both Intel and AMD setups, especially with the incoming B3 revision Phenoms. This is, until I saw power consumption numbers like this... (my interest was in the 9850 and the Q9300/X3320)

Slower, uses more power, less choices... the only thing AMD microATX has going for it is cost. If you want to bring down the cost, intel has options as well.

I couldn't have said it better myself! If you are willing to part w/ just a little more money, Intel has the market on mATX boards at the moment.. I bought my Asus P5E-VM HDMI and I am *extremely* pleased with the final product!
