Alright, I'd like to throw together a Haswell build and finally upgrade from my trusty i7 920 (Planetside is killing my CPU even at 4.1 GHz).

For this rig, I really want to keep everything cool and compact; the chassis must be all aluminum. Furthermore, I'm tired of waiting around for the ITX Asus motherboard and most of the current ITX cases do not particularly interest me.

Here is what I've got so far:

Jonsbo V4
4770k + Asus mATX ROG
Noctua NH-C14 (top fan removed, bottom fan pushing air through fins)
SS-560KM (acting as top fan for heatsink)
3x Noctua NF-R8 80mm all as rear intake
GTX 780 w/ reference blower

I will also be throwing in a samsung 840 ssd and a 2.5" hdd.

Will I be able to keep this system cool and quiet with a reasonable overclock on the CPU? Are there any better alternatives out there or anything truly worth waiting for?

Even though I am in a cramped case, would it be better to go with a non-reference cooler on the 780?

Is there a more optimal fan configuration?

Would it be hilarious to attempt to run a cpu only loop utilizing one thick 2x80mm rad and an apogee II?
 
I have a AX120, and fans in push-pull on my i7-3770K and had to run both fans at 1400rpm to keep the cpu under 70C with a mild overclock of 4.2GHz @ 1.112V. I delidded and then got up to 4.5GHz @ 1.24V while staying under 70C.

Since the AX120 is high performance, I'm afraid you won't get much of an overclock out of yours with any of the existing 2x80mm rads.

IMHO try to find a case that allows 2x120 rad. Seems a shame to otherwise cripple such nice hardware.
 
gosh darnit

now I want to go back to my original plan for a water cooled TJ08 with one 180x45 and another 120x45 rad.
