SFF gaming PC that's quiet?

Hi guys,

I'm seriously thinking about buying a shuttle or similar SFF PC (HTPC case will also be fine) for my next rig however I want it to be fairly powerful yet also quiet. I'm after a conroe setup with 2GB DDR2, large HD and will be using a 7800GTX for now as I have that left over from another PC.

Is it possible to get something with that sort of power in a small format that is also quiet?

I'll be using the PC for gaming (mainly CSS), office tasts, photo editing, coding etc

actually considering going with a HTPC case - something along the lines of Silverstone LC17 as I can pretty much fit full sized components in there without too much trouble. Looks pretty nice as well :)
 
Out of all the SFF I have owned none of them have been what I would call quiet by default. The only way I was able tp get my PC to the point of quiet was to water cool it. But my PC is in my bedroom so quiet to me is dead silent. :D

As for the power. Well SFF have come a long way. Just about everything you can get in a normal size PC you can get in a SFF. I think the only thing left is crossfire mobo.
 
I have never seen a SFF case that didnt have a bunch of defects built in. Most big ones too.

CrossFlow is the only one that fixes just about all of the problems. :) And allows Crossfire or SLI.
 
The rig in my sig sits 18 inches from me, and except for the light on the front, I wouldn't even know it was on. You guys have dog hearing or something? =P Seriously, though 1 12cm fan, the fan on the psu, and Zalmans on the gpu and cpu....my laptop is louder.
 
That Lian Li should be good for noise, although looks biggish. The new ARIA (NSK1300), should be even quieter than the last. The plastic panels help deaden noise tremendously.

Best choice for noise would be an NSK1300 with a modded side intake fan on the opposite side of where you sit.
 
Shuttle SN27P2 is ULTRA quiet and keeps internals really cool. This is coming from another Shuttle SN95G5 which I already thought was quiet.
