I purchased these SFF-8087 to SFF-8087 cables and they aren't even close to being long enough in my RM31616 to connect an IBM M1015.
It looks like 500mm is what most people are using and the M1015 is a very popular card, so what cables are you guys using?
Or are the SAS backplane connectors on the Norco cases in a better location? They're in the middle of the backplane on this Chenbro - horribly placement.

I have a Chenbro expander and a Xcase 24 bay case (UK branded Norco I think) where the backplane SAS connectors are pretty much in the middle. My cables are about 30cm long! which in most cases is too long.

I think you can get 80cm cables too?

As more of a side note, there are maximum lengths specified for SAS cables, and the backplanes "Consume" some of that maximum length. I want to say its 3 meters total.

Max length for SAS is 10 meters. On my Norco 4220, the SAS cables are on the right side of the backplanes as viewed from the back, close to where the PCI express slots are. The 500mm cables are plenty long for me, but I've also got one of these 1m cables. It works fine too, and it's not much more expensive than the .5m ones.
