These are sexy and finally available for purchase...Nice, 580W too :)

On the Type R we our using our design patented mesh body. This allows directional convection thereby lowering the need for forced air (Fan) which in turn means lower fan RPM and noise. Also as a side effect it lowers weight, as you notice even using all these techniques our Type R is still quiet heavy. This brought us to the need for a new package which can take the punishment most delivery people dish out while protecting all the circuitry inside, so was born the Type R tool box. We wanted to do something new with the Modular connections as the existing ones in the market were un-secure. With modding in mind we designed the Omnigrid TM connectors to resolve this issue. With connections for up to 12 devices and ATX 2.2 this represents the latest in Power generation Technology.

Patented design device extension cables.
Supports ATX up to v2.2 & Intel BTX configuration.
Complies with all Intel & AMD CPU specification requirement.
Gold Plated connector, preventing rust & bad connection.
High efficiency APFC (Active Power Factor Correction).
Connects up to 4 SATA HDD + 8 other component devices.
Dedicated PCI-E connector.
EZ-Grip Molex connector.
Only 18db with 2 fan.

These are available at a couple of retailers. Any reason for copying pctoys ad for them here? Also don't steal other people's bandwidth.

Why do we need a new "Have you seen the Hiper Type R" thread for every day of the week? I think I have one for every day dating back for the last two years the PSU has been out.

old, pimp looking, andyson, not enough ground wiring (4 wires on the molex go into 3 wires in the psu end, with only a single ground), and is really a 500w.

Are power supply died so we our having a funeral.

Seems like the engineers decided on the mesh chassis, not the marketing guys. It's a shame they couldn't get the right people on the job.

Personally in my opinion, these powersupplies are PUKE and should be added to the do not buy list for enthusiasts.

If you own one and it's working for you, great, you've been lucky or you don't have an SLI rig. If you have CrossFire or SLI intentions, pick one that is truely up to the needs and not just pretty looking.
