It seems as though some companies can almost read my mind.
I have been planning on implementing a NAS solution for my home network for some time. Right now, I have a total of 1TB as a collection point for data on my HTPC however, I did not implement raid because I am terrified that I will not be able to migrate data when I upgrade my HTPC MoBo. I really like the idea of NAS because you can literally just unplug it and take it anywhere.
So, I was looking at the Infrant ReadyNAS X6. It's a cool little box with 4 SATA drive slots. It does SMB, FTP, Files over HTTP, has GbE, FireWire, USB and a pretty robust (though slow) OS. My only problem with it was that the drives were not on a backplane....and it required opening up the unit to make power and sata connections.

It looks like it's the X6 with a much better chassis and overall better looks with hotswappable drives.
