It seems as though some companies can almost read my mind.

I have been planning on implementing a NAS solution for my home network for some time. Right now, I have a total of 1TB as a collection point for data on my HTPC however, I did not implement raid because I am terrified that I will not be able to migrate data when I upgrade my HTPC MoBo. I really like the idea of NAS because you can literally just unplug it and take it anywhere.

So, I was looking at the Infrant ReadyNAS X6. It's a cool little box with 4 SATA drive slots. It does SMB, FTP, Files over HTTP, has GbE, FireWire, USB and a pretty robust (though slow) OS. My only problem with it was that the drives were not on a backplane....and it required opening up the unit to make power and sata connections.

It looks like it's the X6 with a much better chassis and overall better looks with hotswappable drives.
 
Sexy indeed. I opted for the opposite end of the spectrum, and picked up the Netgear Storage Central, (ended up getting a great deal on it), and two woot drives and had myself a 500gb NAS system for $150. Its not near as nice as the beauty your lookin at but hey just thought id throw that out there. You should really ask yourself how much you need it, and spend accordingly.
