Im getting my rig ready for Doom 3, so I need to finally address this EAX problem.
In any game, including UT2004, Counter-Strike, and Painkiller, the sound works great unless EAX is enabled. Once EAX is enabled, the sound effects are inconsistent, in that the gunfire may randomly stop playing and then start playing at random moments. Everything is much quieter, and there is a very annoying, high-pitched beep that changes its pitch and volume randomly. Ive tried to make it beep a certian way by recreating certian situations, but it seems to be completely random. I dont want to have to play doom 3 without EAX, and the creative tech support isnt helping. I have installed the latest drivers, and I get this problem in both my speakers, and my headphones, so the sound just isnt outputting correctly.
Thanks,
Kyle
