Seven monitors + reciever

I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly I need to run the setup I have. Right now I'm using both the igp (asus P8Z68-V) and gpu. This works okay, but not great. Also, I have to pass the video though the receiver, which causes sparkles at 120HZ (for 3D). And I can't use all my monitors simultaneously

I have,

  • three 1600x1200, DVI (dell 2005FP);
  • one 1920x1080, HDMI;
  • one 1920x1200, DVI or HDMI;
  • one 1280X800 HDMI (projector);
  • one 2560X1600, DP (dell u3011)
I also have a receiver that needs HDMI to get sound from the video card (this 5770).

So, how do I get 4 HDMI (1 being audio only), 3 DVI, and one DP (or 3 HDMI, 4 DVI, 1 DP)? I'm thinking I'll keep my current card and add another.

Would getting something like this work? Can it run all four monitors at once without SLS? Is there something better where I wouldn't need to buy additional hdmi/dvi -> dp adapters?

I don't play any games, at all, ever. So the cards in http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1700484 seem like overkill. So only considerations are 2D and HTPC use, which my current card does okay (though it has that micro stutter issue with pretty much any video)

Thanks for any suggestions and for reading this drivel

you havent been too specific with exactly what u want to display.

i.e. all outputs duplicated, extended, eyefinity, separately or mixedetc...

i can run 8 screens duplicated from 1 hdmi port using a splitter

i think my head is going to explode trying to figure out how this is configured....

lol

Extended. Each monitor displaying different things, and maximizing a window causing that window to fill up a given monitor.

eyefinity capable card will have 6 outputs...

Six mini-dp. It would work, but since I don't play any games, I'd rather not spend >$400 on one of those cards plus five adapters.

Haha, see below.

I think I can make it work if I can find a quiet 7770 with two DP and either one HDMI and DVI, or dual DVI.

That would give me,

The three 2005FPs connected to the 5770: 2 DVI, 1 DP->DVI
And then to the 7770, u3011 via DP, 1920x1200 via DVI, 1920x1080 via DP->HDMI, receiver via HDMI

Then I could just hook up the projector when we want to watch something.

And I'd need two adapters: DP->DVI (passive for 1600x1200?) and one DP->HDMI

Thoughts?
