anything special/different from VMC? Are there tutorials on this topic here? Does win 7 support mkv or stream mkv to xbox 360?

Windows 7 is much better than Vista (MC and overall) but I ended up giving up on the x64 version due to codec issues, especially with mkv files. Once I reinstalled as x86 and installed cccp (Combined Community Codec Pack), AC3Filter and CoreAVC w/ CUDA I can play everything up to 1080p mkv files over the network. CPU useage is around 80% for the dual core, but this is at 800Mhz and rarely goes over that (sometimes touches 1700Mhz). I'm happy.

MKV plays back fine. I'm using Haali and CoreAVC for mine, but I think you only need Haali if you PC is up to snuff.
