I have a plan to put together a Media Center PC. Please share your thoughts.
CPU: Pentium Core 2 Duo E6300
Motherboard: PNY MBM630I7150 LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 7150 / nForce 630i HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Memory: 1GB DDR2 800
Hard Drive: 80GB 7200 RPM (Media will be streamed from a server.)
Optical Drive: Sony DVD-/+RW
Power Supply: Antec 300watt
Video: Onboard
OS: Crunchbang Linux with XBMC.
Everything except the motherboard is from stuff I have scrounged from other machines.
The purpose of the machine will be to watch standard and high definition video files from USB drives, optical discs, or a network file server. It will also be used to play DVDs and Audio CDs. The computer will connect to a 720p LCD via HDMI. It will not be used for PVR or DVR functions. It will not be used for gaming.
