I have been wanting a 5870 for some time but they are nowhere to be found. But at my local frys they currently have an XFX 5850 in stock for 300 bucks. Going to be running 2x1600x1200 portrait 2007fps and a 3007wfp with this thing. Is the 5850 enough for eyefinity eyegasms on these monitors?

I thought i read somewhere that in-order for eyefinity to run, you need to have 3 monitors with the same aspect ratio and the same resolution.

i may be wrong, but im pretty sure i read it somewhere.

i have the same type of monitor setup you speak of and first, there is no eyefinity support for portrait, landscape, portrait and second there is no eyefinity support for monitors in different resolutions... they may include support but i would not count on it.

second, you would have to use softTH to triple screen games and it is not ideal, and with what I got, yea i get about the same performance as two gtx260s in sli, so figure how that pushes 2560x1600 and then double the resolution and you will find the answer to be meh, no... because I want more than the 5870s got!
