I want to reconfigure my system for the best possible solution for ripping and encoding my dvd and blurays. I have already been doing this with dvds and those are quick and easy. Blurays take a while and I want to make sure my system is setup in the proper way for this. I also have been editing HD video from my camera.

Current rig:
Asus Rampage Formula
Q9550 WC @ 4ghz
2x4870 WC 1gb xfire(not that this matters)
8gb ram
2x320gb single platter WD drives in raid 0
1tb scratch drive
Bluray drive, with any dvd hd and handbrake for encoding

I am currently ripping discs to my raid and then encoding them from the raid on to the 1tb drive. I am wondering if my drives are slowing my down. Watching hardware my cpu and ram arent maxing out. Would and SSD drive and a raid 0 scratch be better? Velociraptors? I am worried about writing too much with an SSD. I could do to raid 0 arrays. All my media is stored on a 4x2tb Samsung F4 Raid 5 server with dual Xeons.

So what would be the best possible configuration for this purpose. I dont mind replacing drives, but I want to leave the other hardware as is for now.
