Setting up HP 460wf wireless printer...any help possible here?

My wife had to get a wireless printer for work and also for school. So she got the HP 460wf portable printer. But this thing is possessed. The wireless simply will not work properly! HP tech support has done the remote desktop thing repeatedly to fix it, but to no avail. They even sent a new wireless card, no help there. First they blamed Vista, and when she traded that laptop in for a Windows XP based laptop instead, they blamed Microsoft again...Microsoft blamed HP in the first place! They just point fingers at each other, and are no help. It has been installed on three different laptops, to no avail.
Does anyone have any familiarity with this setup? Apparently there are a lot of reviews about it's notoriety for being difficult to get working wirelessly...but there are no in-depth solutions available as far as I can find. Printer works fine via USB cable. Normally the wireless simply will not connect...the one time she did get it linked up wirelessly, the Print Spooler said it could not connect to the printer.
