I have an old 400mhz that I am gonna put IPcop on with 2 NICs

NIC 1: VOIP (so I can set port triggering and rate limitations when it is active, ie. when the phone is not in use the network gets full speed, when in use upload is shifted to that card for maximum quality )

NIC 2: Linksys 4-port router (set to function as a switch) with a router (see below) and comps connected to it.

I want to plug a patch cable into the Linksys and connect to a wall jack and give connection to the tivos.

I want to connect a wireless router to the Linksys (D-Link)

I am also wanting to run cable through the attic and walls to connect 2 tivos.

So when I run the cable through the walls, how do I set the wall jacks wiring? Is it made just as a regular patch cable is except with a wall plate vs. an end piece?

Thanks

The wall jacks you buy will have color-coded wiring diagrams. Follow the one labeled T-568B. It will be a mirror image of how a patch cable looks.

However, you may be limited to the wiring configuration of your patch panel, if it's of a different type. You want to be consistent in your wiring standards.
