Hi all, just got around to setting up folding for the [H] and noticed that in the sticky thread the link to the client download is broken. I found it from searching on the website, but figured someone may want to update the link anyways.
I have a few boxes I will set this up on. When I try to register on the hardfolding site it asks for some user ID. Where exactly do I get this?

you create your own user name or your ID. i fold under the same name as i use here, but you can choose what you want. just remember team - 33 !!

Yeah, you're talking about your "Stats ID", right? You can find it on [H]s stats page when you pull up your stats. When you search for yourself (up at the top left of the page) and find your stats page, you'll see your "Stats ID" on the left side of the page near the top.

I tried to search for "eddie11c" to find yours, but that name wasn't found. Are you folding under a different name, I guess? In case you can't get to yours, you can see my stats ID here, it's "807138", just for reference (same place, on the left side near the top).

Edit: slow post, heh. But I figured you meant "Stats ID".

Yea when you setup the client what user did you use?
Also if you just did this within the last few hours it may have not shown up yet in the database.
 
Ah thanks for the explanation, i have the same user id as on the forums, I will check again later when the stats update. One other question is about cpu vs gpu. I have installed both on another system and notice the gpu ramps it up to 50% utilization(c2d cpu), but the cpu version just hangs around 5%. I set the affinity thinking perhaps it could use 100% on each core, but maybe someone can explain the best way to do this. I have an 8800 GTS on my other system which usually just sits in sleep mode and figured I would try to take advantage of it.

Hmm, you didn't get CPU and GPU mixed up in that sentence, did you? If so, that would make sense and be how it's supposed to be. Because the CPU client will only use one core's worth of work, so if you have 2 cores, you'll have 50% utilization and 4 cores you'll see 25% utilization.

If not and it's the other way around (as you said), then I'd say make sure you're looking at the right process in task manager, for the CPU client it'll be "FahCore_xx" (x = number), not "Folding@Home.exe".

If that's not it then I'm not sure at the moment. I'm sure someone else will have an idea too.
 
FahCore_82.exe is for my cpu = 50% cpu utilization(100% for one core)
FahCore_11.exe is for my gpu = ~5% cpu ulitization on the other core

I guess the question is how to allow the cpu version use more than one core? Do I need another version of the client?

It is recommended to use the Linux VM client method to get the best performance. The Windows CPU (single-core and SMP) client has significantly lower output than the Linux client. See the guide for info on this.

This. And here, significantly lower means half the ppd. If you're really lucky.
