setting page file question

Okay, I have plenty of ram (1GB 3200+) to get rid of 99% of my page file. But when I went in to set it to something like 5 MBs it seemed to set but in the little box on the bottom of the window that I still have like 1500 MB allocated for page file usage. I don't get it, is this just HDD space that CAN be used but isnt and its just kind of sitting there? Or am I missing something when it comes to changing the page file, because on the top of the screen it says that I have it set to 5 MB on drive C(which is the only drive I have) Can someone please clarify what is going on here? Thanks.

I'll admit that anotherguy159's post was less than informative, but your reply was out of line. The rules are quite specific about flaming, and they are enforced.

anotherguy159 - perhaps some additional information would be of benefit here.....?? Is that your opinion (your post) or do you have some real info to back that up with....??

please, for the purpoes of education, read the "Unofficial Official Tweak Guide", item 6 (or so, something like that ), it has a link to where phoenix86 came to the rescue and answered the burning Page File question once and for all.
