Set up for Dual Core?

I'm going to download F@H for my dual core system and I was wondering is there any settings that will allow me to enable usage of the dual cores or isn't that non-existant?

I'm gonna be setting up three machines to fold for HF shortly I just need some feedback as on how to set them up properly is all. Any helpful advices would be nice.

Machine ID. You need to download 2 copies, put them in different folders and during configuration set them to different machine IDs. I also rename the filename (fah504-console to fah505-console or something like that) so that I can figure out which process I am resetting when I am running the apps as a service.

Edited - When I go into configuration I would like for the cpu to be at idle when doing this and not at 100% so at what settings do I enable that idle thing? I mean when I am done with the configuration both of my cores are at 100% and I don't want that... So how do I go around this?

Idle/low is the priority setting i.e. when will it give up process time to other services (usually background services). The % setting is different in that is the max amount of single core process time it will use.

So for a dual-core AMD setup (probably same for intel):

first copy of fah is set to Idle and 100%

your windows task manager will read 50% load.

second copy of fah is set to Idle and 100%

your windows task manager will read 100% load.

if you want to run your computer at a lighter load just lower the % setting. This is usually down to manage cooling on the system. As performance really doesn't change things.

I run low setting on computers that do nothing other than folding. I set idle for other systems as I don't want FAH to interfere with any other operations of the computer.

If FAH is running, there is no idling processor. It runs the computer at the % you set in the config. It gives up processor cycles when other processes/programs ask for the processor and then resumes when those programs are done. I have 12 computers that have been running at 100% processor load for 6 months to 2 years now.

Windows and Linux both have the ability to run low priority programs. Any normal program will take the resources away from the low priority program as needed. When they are done with the resources Windows will return them to the original program.

So, you fold at full speed untill you launch a game.

its not in the sig...it is external to that....the badge code found at hardfolding.com needs to be made into a bookmark and then you hit that instead of the submit button....see:
