I am looking for a way to completely backup our current server to a second server so that if the first server crashes the second can take over. I also want any file changes on the first server to be made on the second server. Is it possible for me to completely copy the first server, including all software to the second server even if both servers have different hardware. Both are running windows 2k3 server.
 
what OS? W2k3 you can use DFS and FRS to create fault tolerant file shares.
