I was just wondering if other people have been having troubles connecting to the Servers to retrieve a new core to work on?

I have my work computer folding and it has been unable to connect for 2 days to get a new core... Is there a setting I need to change? or is this normal? Because I have not had any troubles getting new cores from my home computer...

Could someone please shed some light on this situation for me???

Here is a link to the server page which lists and details the status of the stanford servers. You would need to find out which server your client is attached to by looking at the logs and then looking at the server page.

Have fun dude, and fold-on!!

Ciao for now ......

^^ what he said. If you still having problems, send me a PM as I have an extra 600 pointer lying around.

GG is from Canada, this is to be expected ;)

Youre not behind a proxy at work by any chance? I know a lot of people have been having trouble getting work units through SQUID, dont know abou other varieties.

I too also have a 240 pointer that needs finishing. My pen drive pulled it down, and i didnt notice how huge it was for a few days, so theres ~ 10 frames done i think. Was gonna put it on my main rig, but thats sat on a big ass gromacs, so that plans out the window.

Hey, I woulda never known until I checked your profile...

Anyways, I call girls dude... The closest thing to the female equivalent of dude is 'hun', and some girls think that's a little too... aggressive. At least they hit like girls.

If it's your work PC, they may have blocked a port somewhere along the way that F@H uses... The Nazis that run the place here block anything and everything you can (Do you really need to block weather.com ??? come on... some of us WORK outside... we need to know what the weather will be!)

Keep on Folding!!

I call everyone hon & sweetheart... MUAHAHAHAHA Just ask Sulseeker!

anywho... It is possible that I am behind a proxy or firewall, they try to keep a pretty blocked out system here, but much of it is easy to get around but I am new with the folding stuff so I am not sure what to do...

I checked the servers page and I am not sure what I should be looking at, status? connect? upload? DL?

anywho... yeah... ummm....

the servers my log shows me connecting to are 171.64.122.128 and 171.65.103.152. And I need to actually get some work done so I gots to go...

Just a little side note, I had to block a ton of weather sites for a while. The reason is there are people obsessed with checking the weather 10 times a day, that work inside, and windows are a 10 second walk to see outside. It all comes down to if you let users have it, someone will abuse it. It sucks to have to operate this way, but that's the way it goes.

If you cant get it working, an alternative is to stick F@H on a pen drive and run it from there, that way you can get it running at work, and when it needs to upload bring it home and youre away. Get a cheap 32mb one so you can leave it there all the time and youre away.

Funny, we had a meeting on building safety not too long ago, and the first thing they told us was do not go back to your desk and check the weather. I guess the building evacuation people need to be able to get to the weather sites so they can assess the need for further action. You'd think they would have access to something better.

They're probably using Squid, and that's the problem right there. To check on this, visit your favorite FTP site with FTP proxy turned on, and you'll see a message at the bottom saying what generated it. Alternatively, visit a nonexistent site and look at the bottom of the error message.

I'm on squid so I know your pain.

I think hun makes a good girl->guy or guy->girl pronoun, but not guy-guy. Too limp-wristed. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I prefer women. ;)

@sandmanx: Weatherox extension. Updates every half-hour or so, and it's always down in the tray so you don't have to manually ask for the weather. Accurate, too.
