As affordable as some reliable, very efficient, way overbuilt (so could be quiet if tuned for it) surplus server supplies have been lately, I was trying to spot one that could power a regular big pc. Yes, I'll trust a 3-4 year old 835W server class hot swap unit for $20-30 more than I will many PC power supplies on the market within 200-250% of the cost. :)

However, most seem to be lacking either 3.3v or -12 or some other combination that keeps it from being a drop in.

I'm picking up a controller/power distribution unit from a DL380G4 to see what it provides, but figured by now that if many people were going this route that I'd see mention of it somewhere.

Are there some supplies or easy solutions that are being used this way that I'm overlooking?

Thanks!
