Server downtime affects PPD

Man, all that server downtime in the last few days really killed my PPD. What a pisser. One would think that they would be a little more conscience about taking their servers offline. Crapola

It looks like that affected my PPD by nearly 30% since many borgs weren't folding due to lack of units. Very few of my systems are running timeless units, except my laptop. And that's got enough work que'd up to last a few weeks. Grrr... Me wants to win the race!

I haven't run into server issues........ yet....... my PPD is lower now (with 5 PCs running) than it was during the UD MVN race when I only had 1.5 PCs running F@H..... My P4 2.66 here at work has been crunching on one chewing protein for the last 90+ hours.... and it's only 396pts........

Keep on Folding!! For the [H]orde!!

I'm pretty sure a bunch of WUs also haven't been credited as well--I'm missing a bunch. Don't worry, though--they'll get it all sorted out eventually.

I'm glad something was wrong on their side. I've been checking computers all the time thinking something was wrong, I just thought I had some big ones...

hope so

I've also noticed the Lambda "Ham and Cheese" Melt proteins seems to have come back in full force. They suck as far as PPD is concerned.

bleh

If it was down and you haven't got credit they probably just have to hash through a backlog of WU's, meaning once they get it done you'll get a big dump of WU's making your PPD inflated :D

I've gotten credit for quite a few work units but I'll never get back the time that was lost... All those systems were down for hours with nothing to fold.

I'm just wondering if my laptop will finish all 10 cached Work Units before the timeless server is back up. 3 are finished and queued up so far.

do we have any eta on the timeless server? My laptop is in the same boat and I'm hoping it gets done sooner rather than later.

The answer to the original question is "no."

See also the other thread on the same topic.

They are working on it as fast as possible. Please have patience.

My response :)

Thanks for the post!

Didn't mean to seem snippy, but the responses all seemed to be grumbling about people running timeless on fast CPUs and didn't seem to respond to the question of whether the Work Units would ever be able to be turned in.

As far as patience, no problem. I've know about the issue for more than a week but have waited until now to ask the question after I couldn't find a good response.

Keep on folding.

THe last two machines I've tried to get folding can't get work:-( But I set them up to get work in batches...maybe that is what is wrong.
