I'm thnking of building a server that will be stored on a rack in my garage. The problem is the garage can get pretty hot during the summer days and reach at least 90 degrees F. I would rather not have to buy an air conditioner to cool it. What alternative cooling solutions can I use? I know there are decent liquid cooling solutions for the cpu but how can I cool the motherboard, ram, etc. too?

Well with 90 degree ambient, your not going to have much luck cooling it. I am not a server guy, not sure how hot they run. But I would think under heavy use, it may overheat or even worst cut the hardware life short.

I know you didnt want to use air conditioning, so I would look for an alternate location in the house.

Won't a iquid cooling solution be effective for this though. Isn't there a liquid cooling solution that can cool the whole case?

there was a guy who did this huge passive cooling project on [H], was for a normal pc but im sure with some fans and some DIY skills you could get a similar thing in your garage that is massive overkill during the winter but will keep it cool during the summer.

Non-refrigerated liquid cooling can't drop the temp below ambient--it's just not possible. You need refrigeration to get it colder than ambient.
