Server 2003 web host problem

Here is my problem, I am hosting my own site on my windows server 2003. When I conect to my page from my network everything looks fine, but when I connect from outside I can only get text to work, no pictures or background or links work. I have a few sites I have designed and maintain from off site servers with no problem. I am basically doing this to learn about web servers, hosting.
 
sounds to me like full path names in the links, pictures, etc. instead of relative paths.
 
well the linked path name is only this, domain.linked.html. Or in FP2003 in the hyperlink link.html, Nothing like this C:/inetpub/wwwroot/link.html
