server 2003 firewall

huh? I'm a bit confused about your network topology. Actually I'm a bit confused about your entire post. Is the file server on your internal network? If so, then nothing from the outside can touch the file server unless you specifically open ports on your router. It is possible that your router has a hole in it that allows outside attacks to your internal network, but the chances of that happening are about the same as the chances of there being a hole in any firewall that you might use.
