Does anyone know of any tweak guides for Serious Sam 2? I just picked the game up and it runs like crap on my system and I'm trying to figure out what the best settings are. A quick rundown of my rig:

E4300 @ 3.1Ghz
2GB G Skill DDR2
Gigabyte DS3 Version 2.0
XFX 8800GTX
X-fi Extreme Music
150GB Raptor (Programs and Boot Drive)
500GB Seagate (music, movies and backups)
Lite-On 8X DVD +/- R/RW Drive
Dell 2001FP LCD

I'm no expert, but SS2 struggling on an 8800GTX sounds like something wrong.

I had some performance issues in SS2 which turned out to be sound-related. Try dropping hardware acceleration down a notch or two in dxdiag.

EDIT: Patched it?

I just installed this game 2 days ago on my 7900gt. It works great at max settings, but I think the nvidia drivers still suck ass because like every half an hour the textures and enemies start blinking (visible/non-visible), and don't stop until I restart the game

oh great game :) i remember having performance issues with the lastest patch, it turn out to be some advanced graphic setting in the game, i don´t remember correctly which one, but i guess it was the geometry level or something like that, u have to lower it a bit, u have to play around with the in-game graphic settings to find out.

That's pretty weird, I get high framerates at 1280 with everything maxed on my 6800GT. Try lowering graphics options individually and see if any specific setting is causing the slowdown.

What do you mean it runs like crap? Less than 150fps?

The game does take a lot of CPU power so that may be why.

I have my res set to 1600x1200, AA at 4x and AF at 16x with my rig it should handle this no problem but it stutters like crazy even after turning off AA and AF. I applied the most recent patch but there are so many graphics options for this game I was just looking for some pointers in case one setting is conflicting with another.

Seems like this is another game that doesn't work with 8800's.... everyone else with decent cards run it fine.
