I have a 3500 athlon 64, a 939 dfi lanparty sli d motherboard, 2gb ocz pc3200 platinum ram, geforce 7800gt gfx card, Aska 400W powersupply, WD sata 250Gb hdd. Ok orignally I have 1gb in 2*512 of pc3200 geil ultra ram. But when I connected it all up the pc worked but only for short periods of time before going to a black screen. I decided maybe it was memory problem as when it used memory it seemed to crash so I got the 2gb of ocz ram. also dfi board have 4 lights showing at what point the bootup is. and I got 3 when i turn it on alot of the time which meant there was a problem with memory. So i then installed the ocz ram and i still get 3 lights. Does this mean its the motherboard thats the problem and thats whats failing. I have once got 4 lights which means that it didnt find the cpu I then restarted it and it got 1 light which means it can find the video card. I then turned it off and on and it got 3 again. and now everytime I turn it on I get 3 lights. Anyone have any ideas, is it possible the bios needs to be updated? or is it a problem with the whole motherboard? thx

could be a motherboard, double check all power connectors, what kind of power supply are you using? make sure that the mounting screws for the mother board are making a good contact with the metal around the screw wholes. If that doesnt work I wouldnt hesitate to call DFI or whoever you got it from for an RMA.

If it were me i'd try a power supply no doubt. If it's not posting some of the time....with that system and new RAM....i'd borrow a p/s and try it.
