I'm building inside of an AeroCool ExtremEngine 3T. All was going smoothly until I tried to slide my video card into place. The metal tab on the end (that you put the screw through to hold it down) is hitting the edge of the case before the card is able to slide all the way into the slot. If I push the card all the way down, the far end of the card goes all the way in and then slants upwards, so that the end nearest to the edge of the case isn't quite in. I haven't turned it on yet, but I'm assuming a video card installed on an angle simply won't work.

Any suggestions on what to do? I really don't want to have to RMA this case. Removing the metal tab would be hard and if I did that, the video card would be very unsturdy.

If I understand the problem correctly... just bend the metal tab on the video card one way or the other (not more than 1/8 inch) so the video card does not interfere with the case.
 
Did you put the wrong size standoffs in? It sounds like your motherboard is up too high off the back of the case.
 
I had this problem with the Skyhawk case I first built my current rig in. It eventually went in (had to force it waaaaaaaaaay more than you should for a vid card, though) without bending anything.

Honestly, if you're having an issue with things not fitting properly and it's because the case is poorly designed, I'd get a different model.
 
I beleive I understand you problem, as I hav ehad it before. You can just take off the restraining bracket that is on the video card by unscrewing the video plug standoffs and any other screws attached to teh card and just cut/grind/dremel off the pronged edge. That should would. but if its the mobo standoffs that are the issue... then your video card wont fit at all.
 
you can just take off the metal bracket and THEN and most importantly, buy one of those lan case card retainer thingys to hold the card down tight.
 
This means that the motherboard is not in the right position or the backplate is not in the right place. Make sure you are using the right size stand-offs and, if you removed the backplate in your modding, make sure it's seated back where it was supposed to be.
