Can anyone explain shortly: Having one hard disk or two, is there any noticable difference when editing video in Adobe Premiere (in speed, or whatever...). And if there is, do I plug secondary HD on primary IDE channel as a slave unit. Thanks in advance.
 
Wrong section but there wont be any big difference unless you try to raid them and it sounds like you just need to buy a 10k rpm hd from your knowledge of hardware and be done with it. Stick the 10k rpm hd in as you said as secondary on the primary strip after setting the little pin on the HD to "cable select" or "slave" then format it using a windows xp boot up cd but dont install windows... or use whatever program you use to format.

Before you do all this though try defragging your HD, it can help alot. Ram is probably low on your computer as well if you're ahving trouble running that program.

I don't agree. I've heard from my friend (that's why I'm posting on this forum) that there is a BIG difference when using separate HD just for video storage. My system is pretty fine, I don't have any significant trouble, I'm just curious. Is there anybody with his own experience about...
