So after a lot of reading [H]ere and else where i decided on a pair of these.

Just some things im considering now that i'd like some advice on are...

I currently use what is considered, "onboard" audio from my DFI Lanparty SLI-DR which is actually pretty nice to be honest. Should i look into something else to really get my moneys worth, does anyone have any experience with cans' and this particular onboard audio?

Also, can anyone give me an accurate statement regarding the amount of quality gained by using an amp with this particular headset? one of the reasons i got it in the first place is many reviews here said that these are great even without one but in the future it might be something im going to look into if enough people are saying, "YES!"

Thanks!

I used to use the onboard audio on my DFI SLI-DR and it sounded horrid. I also own a pair of 555's. They sound much better on my x-fi extreeeeeme music now.

It is worth your $100.

It may also be worth your $100 for an amp, maybe not for the 555's, but if you ever upgrade...

You are wasting your money if you are going to use the onboard. Ive tried the onboard on my Ultra-D with my 555s and it sounded horrid compared to using my Audigy 2 ZS
