I bought these Sennheiser PC155 w/ usb connector awhile ago, a year or so.

Just realized today while trying to talk in vent that the microphone isn't working anymore, hoping It didn't just break I checked audio settings and everything but nothing seems to help. Used to get a clicking noise when I pressed the on/off switch near the volume control, but it doesn't make that sound anymore so i'm sure the mic is broken.

My question is, Can I buy just a new headset, without the USB connector? I noticed you can buy the USB connector (which I already have, came with the headset) for 50 bucks.

But it doesn't look like I can buy just another PC155 headset without buying another USB connector.

Any ideas?

both links broken.

have you tested the mic in windows/voice proggie to see if its still working?

have you tried pulling the usb adapter and opluggin it directly to a computer to see if it works? if it works then, then i'd say no you can't just pick up pc-150's and plug them in to the usb adapter.

in ventrilo (what i use mostly) you can disable the mic clicks.....

What I'm wondering is if I can buy the PC150 headphones (they dont come with the usb adapter), and use my usb adapter I have now with them, they look the same in both pics

pull the adapter, and plug them into a pc and see if they work..... that'll give you your answer ;)

edit just to clarify, the only difference between the 150's and the 155's is the usb adapter....

if I unplug the headset from the usb adapter and plug them into my onboard soundcard, mic still doesnt work in the windows voice tester thing.

If I plug it back into usb adapter, it doesnt work either, so i'm assuming just the mic is broken..since I can still hear sound just as well from the headphones.

No, but I dont see why the mic would just stop working overnight and I didn't change any settings, guessing its just broke.

it can happen. it happend with my Plantronic Audio90s last week (had them for over 5yrs, may they now rest in peace), then I bought the PC150s. :)

im just overly cautious i guess. before i spend the cash i want to know exactly what is broken.
