Sennheiser HD600s

My Sennheiser HD590s broke and I am considering replacing them with a pair of HD600s. My soundcard is a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music.

I also have a high end audio system with a threshold preamp and a bryston amp that is not currently being fed by my computer.

My dealer suggested a Pro-Ject Headbox II headphone amplifier which goes for about $119. I would be adding a dedicated amp to my PC setup for the first time.

Is anyone currently using the HD600s for gaming and if so how do you like them? I get great results with my 590s but I might want to take my setup to the next level.

The HD600s are much better than the 590s IMO. They do pretty well for gaming, although if you're like me, you'll need to wear them for a bit to stretch out the headband. They have a nice soundstage, but I wouldn't mind a little more bass for gaming.

um. there are much better than 600s for gaming. see my sticky.

honestly, those koss sb40s are all I need. I recently picked them over a pair of Open Darth Beyers.

for music, the 600s are better sure. for gaming no.
