Helllo everyone. I recently picked up a pair of Sennheiser PC155s from ecost.com ($80-something as opposed to 130+ at amazon).

Pics: www.sennheisercommunications.com

These are quite possibly the best pair of gaming headphones i've seen. They are far superior to both the Plantronics Audio 90s and DSP500s that I have own previously in confort, and mini jack sound quality.

It is important to note that the PC155s has a detachable USB sound chip which reveals seperate minijacks (audio and mic). As far as I know there are no other manufacturers that do this, and has been a major selling point.

I unplugged my Klipsch Ultras last night from my Audigy 2 ZS and played some Warcraft III, Enemy Territory, Savage, Lineage2, and listened to Winamp. Sennheiser quality is apparent in the sound reproduction. Now, they're no HD600s or anything but they surpass everything else in their class that I've listened to. The Mic provides clear recording for TS2 and Ventrilo.

During the weekend I plan to reattach the USB chip and perform a test. I'lll let my conventional audio go though my klipsch (say during UT2004), but configure Ventrilo or TS2 to utilize the USB sound chip, so that my teammates voices come throiugh the headset. Now, I've heard that people loose some FPS or other performance drops, but considering that the usb chip will not be trying to processs EAX3 or anything else. it doesn't seem there should be much of an impact on my system. Am I correct in this assumption?
Thanks!
