On my searches for a 24 inch monitor, (I made a few "grumpy" posts in the display section) I found what appears to be a semi hot deal. The LG L246WP-BN is on sale from 599 to 499 100 off instantly, at BB and compusa. Newegg has the 245WP-BN for 650. the only difference i have found is button placement.

I wish the gateway 24 inch was this price, but we will see as time goes on. Oh I should mention the free S/H at both places.

There are a few 24in LCDs like this one in BB currently, around the same price as well.

It's a TN 6bit. Essentially a poor man's 24in LCD.

I wouldn't say it's a poor man's 24 incher. Bought one a few weeks ago and it's the best LCD purchase I've made so far...

Id say this is not hot then, you can get the dell 24" for $569 at costco, its worth the extra $70 for alot better monitor.

Actually I believe it's a P-MVA panel. All reviews I have read about it give it a good rating and that it's one of the best 24" monitors available.

You have your facts confused. Not a TN and one of the better 24"-ers out there. Better than the Dell imo.

Your both wrong - so very wrong. There was already a thread on this monitor and it's every bit as good as the Dell if not better. I own a 24" Dell and I'd trade it for one of these LG's right now.

Yep, I have one and recommend them... and now I'm thinking about getting a second one this week :)

Oh man, it is getting really hard to resist taking the plunge... All I have left in my way is how sucky the rest of my computer is now :D

I bought one today but the store did not have any in stock at all for the whole sale. I guess in my part of GA they won't have it available for customer pickup. No worries, they will ship it to my house for free.

Why is Compusa charging Tax in states that they no longer have a presence in? Or do they have to charge until the year is over?

Oh well....I really don't need to buy a new monitor (yet). Until I'm ready to buy a new video card (to play DX10 games), I'll stick with this old refubished E540. It isn't perfect, but I use it at 1920x1440, so I can wait....now if this sucker could go as high as the 30" monitors, that'd be a significant real estate upgrade :)
