Is there somewhere on the forums where I can ask questions about purchasing and selling things? Like advice about a fair price for somthing.

if it's about motherboards, check hte motherboards forums

if it's about a vid card, check the vid card forums

etc. etc.

Heh... i thought he was trying to sell his 1337 troubleshooting advice. :D

The basis of this forum, consists of others answering/asking question out of simple kindness and a common interest. Implementing any kind of a pay system would be against the very nature of the forum. If you really want a pay for support arrangement, there are plenty of sites on the net where this is available.

Heh, he didn't ask that :p He was asking where he could go to ask about reasonable prices for hardware, etc. Example: to see if a price of $300 on eBay for an A8N-SLI would be reasonable.

When selling something big ticket, I always try to take 7% off eBay prices. That way the buyers are all hsppy :).

The only forum that expressly forbids price checking is the FS/T forum......all others are fair game within reason. Price checking is allowed in the [H]otDeals section only after you have found a good price already and are looking for better ones.

Exactly. Pricechecks aren't appropriate in any form under any subforum here that I am aware of.

You can also search the FS/T forum to see if someone else sold the same item and what the asking price was.

Best way is to search for sold items. See what they went for. Only major problem is the sellers dont have to keep the price it sold for here. They should have to, as to protect the seller and the buyer. But some still leave it there, and you can see what prices other people are trying to get lately. Maybe this will help you out.
