And don't even let me respond to those people over at guru3d. I was insulted by IGNITE there Taurus here at hardforums and I said what I said to retaliate. More people got involved and it got worse I had the moderator take sides on the issue and not even try to remedy the situation. That is why i'm here I like it here and plan to stay.

There is another explaination. The us post office may have searched the package. They randomly exray packages and most likely wanted a closer look. Unfortunatley , they are not schooled on the proper handling of CPU's

Yeah that could of been true. The package wasn't damaged on the outside but it looked like someone just thru the cpu in there. It could have been dropped or damaged by USPS but are they going to take responsibility without having insurance on it? hell no they ain't. Anyway to update the situation I sent cpu to WickedAngel and he got it and fixed the pins he said. So i'm just waiting for him to send it back so I can try it out. Will update when I recieve it. I give kudos to WickedAngel for going above and beyond what he had to.

Anything you ship via USPS or UPS is automatically insured for up to $100.00. What cpu was it and what is the value of it? You should be able to get at least $100.00 back on it.

That statment is false, usps does not automatically insure anything unless you pay for it. I don't know about ups since i've only used them once or twice but i dont think they insure anything w/o your money either.

Maybe that's UPS...one of them does automatically offer up to $100.00 insurance...I think it's UPS. sorry about that.

Yea like i said I dont know much about UPS since i use USPS most of the time, i know DHL has some automatic insurance but i dont know how much it is.
You could be right about the Automatic $100 on UPS but i know USPS doesn't give anything unless they get money for it :p .

Yeah...sorry about that...I looked and it is UPS :D

Anyway...a possible solution to this could be the following. Computerdude...you did say you were sending the cpu back to wickedangel?

If when he gets it and if for some reason he can't fix it and agrees with you that it was damaged by the USPS...then when he ships it back to you...insure it this time and when you get it...file a claim with the Post Office. This is not ripping anyone off (The Post Office) because if both parties agree it was damaged by the USPS in the first place...they should be responsible anyways.

On the insurance deal...it's just a safe bet to make insurance a requirement that the buyer has to pay and not optional. This avoids a lot of problems and this way the seller doesn't have to eat the cost of the insurance. If I was buying anything...I would want it insured.

I was too lazy to look at all of the posts but was it shipped across the border? Because customs checks alot of things for many things. I bought bf2 off of ebay and had it shipped from USA to Canada and customs had opened the package and opened the game and even the cd in the middle wasnt in the box, the box wasn't sealed when I got it, etc. So IF it was shipped across the border maybe customs didn't put everything back? If not then maybe the post office or the shipping service used. If not then no idea.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but what would you guys do if this situation happened and the buyer was to pay on delivery?

Would you expect payment anyway? I would think the buyer would be hesitant to pay for damaged product, but I'm not sure what would be expected in this case.

it seems the buyer and seller made contact and are working to get it fixed. If something comes up PM me and ill re-open it.
