Ok I have a P4 550 sitting here I have no mobo for. I would like to get it running as it will encode DVDs and MP3s faster than my 3200+ and I have it sitting here so I might as well use it.

Would I be better off selling it and getting a 920D to reap the benefits of dual core even if its clock speed is lower.

Would the 920 OC to 3.4 on stock cooling with out major issue.

Last of all would i be able to sell my 550 for enough to not have to pay anything for the 920. I have not used it since Ive got it back from RMA hopefully it works its been sitting on my desk for 6 months now.

What of the two would be my best option it might do some lite gaming,

Sorry submitted to soon Edited now. Sorry for the trouble.

The 920 should overclock to 3.4 on stock cooling without any issues whatsoever. Encoding can benefit from a dual core processor (If i'm not mistaken) so with that been said I would sell the 550 on Ebay and snag a 920D.
