Hello All,

I would like some advice on getting my system setup correctly for smooth game play.

My system is in my signature and I'm experiencing varying levels of smoothness in games. But I feel that I should be getting better / more stable frame rates.

I recently went from Cat 12.10 to Cat 12.11 Beta 11 but have actually noticed an increase in choppy game play and now there are artefacts.

So the questions I'm thinking of are:

1) What do you guys do in terms of setting up your system after a fresh install of Windows?

2) How should I approach configuring Catalyst for games? I’ve installed the profiles but they don’t seem to help.

3) Given the resolution I use, would a 3rd 7970 be beneficial and if so would I need a larger wattage power supply?

4) In terms of drivers, should I use the hardware vendors own drivers or just go straight to the chip manufacturer?, e.g. drivers for the motherboard chipset, do I use ASUS or go straight to Intel?

Cheers.

Well got home from work and downgraded to Cat 12.6, seems to have fixed the stuttering and I'm getting 120FPS+ in all my games including Skyrim.

Hope this helps anyone else with similar issues.
