Seeking an awesome PSU

Wattage? Usages? Continent? System specs?

my old pc power and cooling 2 yrs old wont laod my 5870 anymore. i need something more with more power..replaced the card twice now. amd 955 stock phenom II, 8 gigs of ram ddr3 1333 stock, 3 sata hdd's, 2 dvdrw's,antec 900 5 fans, gigabyte 770 chipset.Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit sp1, 22 inch monitor 1680x1050, creative sound x-fi pciex1. ( i bet this turns out to be a another long drawn out lost the question and answer after another few post's as what happens here with every other post) :D

RMA your PCP&C PSU and get a replacement. It has a 5-year warranty, so if you bought it new you should have no problems at all.

Zero is exactly right. Don't write off the current PSU since it has a good warranty. Get it replaced for the cost of shipping it back to PCP&C.

And how with 1 computer and there 2 week process am i going to be able to track and check for updates..i work out of my house and my pc is my business\life in the meantime..

How about you contact PCP&C and see if they'd be willing to send you an advance replacement?

Pc and power cooling is a good psu manufacturer. If its still under warranty I will do what the above said

If you buy a new PSU, you should still RMA the PC P&C power supply then sell it to recover some funds.

I run almost the exact same rig on a seasonic 620watt psu, which when loaded is around 320watts on a kill-a-watt (yeah its not perfectly accurate). So something is up with the psu if you want to buy one instead of waiting on rma I recommend the seasonic x-series 650/750w should do you fine, and the 750w goes on sale for ~$130 on newegg every once and while.

The X650 is an awesome PSU, might just be what I get for my new BD system when it's released.

My current power supply is close to 4 or 5 years old at this point, but I bought a quality one, so it's lasted well.

I touch nothing else but Seasonic. At least you will always know who make their psus

Corsair HX and AX series PSUs. I got a HX750 and HX850 and both are exceptional. Over one year old for both now, and never had any issues/problems.
Seasonic are not the only ones that manufacture their own PSUs.

HX750 $141.99 USD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010 <---80+ SILVER.
HX850 $164.99 USD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139011 <---Really an 80+ GOLD.
Corsair does not make their own PSUs.

The HX750 and HX850 are both technically rated 80Plus Gold, but Corsair downgraded the rating because typical samples will not be able to reach that level of efficiency.

the corsair ax850 was on sale for $149 at performance pc last week not sure if thats the price now but thats the best deal your going to get IMO
